This should be an eye-opener for millions readers like me @Arun Kumar. The questions you have raised should be food for thought for the cops. And it was just disgusting to see the story on TV channels, where most of them used the words like ’compromising position’ .... We aren’t fools to not know what they meant. Instead of that word, they could have used the word ’illicit relationship’.... When they can go to this dirty level, I wonder why did they do so? Just to get more TRPS or getting the viewers glued to their TV set? a teenage girl, under these circumstances, where she had neither of the parents at their rescue, cant she confide few things in an elderly person ( irrespective of the fact that he was a servant)?? Shame you TV channels. I dont find any difference in ur mental strength and that of an animal... Can anyone??

@ Bijoy. You are extremely correct. Not only did media use unworthy tactics to cover the story, it also created a lot of pressure on the people investigating the case. It was there even in the wee hours (Star News is said to have followed Talwar without his knowlwdge, when going for interrogation at 2 am). If this pressure was not there, would not the investigation have taken a different path?

Yesterday's press conference by the IG of UP Police was a total PR disaster for the UP government. Did anyone notice the man flip-flop his own statement? I think he was making up the story extempore. First he said that Hemraj was killed because he was a witness to the Arushi murder. Then he said that the servant was murdered before her. Then suddenly he said that 'a close person whose command he follows' called him up on the terrace, killed him, locked the door, had whisky and then proceeded to kill his daughter who was sleeping.

Why?

He was raged by the fact that Hemraj and Arushi knew of the 'extra-marital' affair Arushi's father was having and since she was against it, it was (say) motive (no 1). Another motive (no 2) is that Arushi and Hemraj used to discuss the illicit affair between themselves and this brought the impressionable teenager 'close' to the servant who was in his mid 40s. Then on the day on the fateful day, Dr. Rajesh, Arushi's father, saw them in a state (but not necessarily in a compromising position) that proved to be the last straw and therefore killed both of them despite 'his character was similarly bad'.

Rubbish and completely unbelievable. Shocking. Hilarious. The IG must undergo a narco-test.

you are right. the media sensationalised in in such a way that the uttar pradesh police came under severe pressure and arrested arushi's dad. first it was widely circulated that her father confessed. then the police retracted and her dad also claimed that he was framed. already we are seeing extreme public emotion against arushi's dad. i just hope it doesn't become a trial by media now.

Please spare a thought for Arushi's parents especially her father in case he is innocent. We really dont know what happened or do we? We are just getting the highly suspect police version of what has happened and nothing else. If the father is really innocent imagine what he might have been going through seeing her daughter murdered, his character tarnished as a womaniser and murderer or his own child and even the murdered child's character as a girl of low virtue having an affair with a man her father's age. Arushi cannot come and defend herself. I hope that things are done in the right way and the guilty punished but the innocent get justice. If it turns out to be a false case against her father then the police must be punished severely for bringing a family honour to disrepute.

I CAN'T TOLERATE that such a young girl is scandalized by the Uttar Pradesh police. The bastards should be hanged. How on earth did they know that the young teenager was having a clandestine relationship with a servant her father's age when no one talked to them???????

The father didn't confess to anything. How dare they say that her father killed them because he saw them in an objectionable state?

Bloody bastards Uttar Pradesh police. They must be paraded naked and beaten in public.

The Uttar Pradesh and Noida police are stupid and highly corrupt. Remember how they overlooked the serial killings in Nithari and didn't do anything even when reports of missing children coming in at an alarming rate? Then they tried to save the main accused and reports of bribery have emerged.

Similarly in this case too the Noida police first tried to hush the matter up by naming Hemraj as a prime suspect when his body was yet to be discovered and started cooking stories.

I have lost faith in the police.
